“For us is the life of action, of strenuous performance of duty; let us live in the harness, striving mightily; let us rather run the risk of wearing out than rusting out.”

Theodore Roosevelt was a charming, inquisitive child; an impassioned adult; and an aspiring leader who remains one of the most impactful, inspiring, and relevant figures in American History. Known as much as a toothy four-eyed caricature as he is for heroically charging into oncoming fire as the leader of the Rough Riders, Theodore makes for an hero for all kinds His influence in the modern day is still alive and vibrant: From the creation of the National Parks to leading the charge on food safety to being the namesake of cuddly bears across the country His life was full of impactful decisions and charming stories.

In his sixty years, Roosevelt lived more than most can do in ninety. His range of experience stretches from being born to East Coast privilege to being a bona fide cattle rancher in the untamed west. He faced health challenges that made people doubt his possibilities to charging straight into enemy gun fire as a military colonel. He spoke softly, carried a big stick, and wrote dozens of books on history, nature, and his own myth. With Roosevelt, there is always something to talk about! He led a country through change and progress. Roosevelt’s extraordinary approach to life still inspires and surrounds us.
